Silver Spring Park Project

Thanks to Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) for its $15,000 grant, the Fund for Lake Michigan for its $40,000 grant, Sweet Water (Southeastern Wisconsin Watersheds Trust, Inc.) for its $7,500 grant, and to the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation for its grant of $250 awarded to the Club for improvements to be made to Silver Spring Park. Enhancements include: maintaining clean water, reducing soil erosion, removing invasive plants and replacing them with native plants and constructing rain gardens and bioswales on the upper bluff. This will be a lengthy project with two phases. We hope you pop over to check out completion of phase one. A special thank you to the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation for its donation towards our native plants.

Silver Spring park is located at the end of Lake Drive and Silver Spring.
You can park on Lake Drive and it is on the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan.
Come see the magnificent view and enjoy us with your family, friends and pets during all seasons.

Green Day in the Bay @ Klode Park

Picture
This fun, family-friendly event promotes environmental awareness, water conservation and sustainable living through how-to clinics, hands on learning, professional exhibits, and much more. This year’s event will promote the theme of “Footprints to the Future—Our Conservation Efforts Bring Us Together” with focus on sustainable water use, energy efficiency, and impactful local initiatives.

Recycle unwanted items, Run the Bay, and stroll through the Eco-Fair. Garden Club members host a table where attendees can learn about our Bird City designation and World Migratory Bird Day.

Come see us at The Milwaukee Art Museum: Art In Bloom

The WFB Garden Club has created beautiful entries since 2009, some of which have been featured in event brochures and have been awarded the People's Choice award. The Milwaukee Art Museum's Art-In-Bloom Exhibition invites clubs or florists to interpret a piece of artwork from the museum through a flower arrangement.

Butterfly Garden at Cahill Park

Picture
The Whitefish Bay Garden Club rescued a butterfly garden in Cahill Square. This garden, which was created many years ago, had been neglected and was threatened with being plowed under by the Village. The club redeveloped this garden to create an educational space for children and adults to appreciate and learn about butterfly gardens. We hope to inspire residents to create their own butterfly habitat at home. To learn more about plantings for a Butterfly Garden, click on our Resources tab.
